Summary

This site was a redesign. The biggest part of the project was transferring all of the old data from a WordPress Woo Commerce platform to Shopify. Luckily, we were able to utilize site transfer technology to make the process go quickly for all of the Woo Commerce products, clients, reviews, and orders. The next hurdle was the affiliate program. This ended up being a multi level marketing program, and we chose goaff pro as a solution, after looking through so many options. Finding the right thing was crucial and simple as we have a membership with elements.envato.com.

The Main Goals

We wanted to be able to give them a streamlined platform that simplify things. The previous WordPress installation had a record-breaking 112 plug-ins. Needless to say the new version of this website is very simplified compared to the old one. I was flabbergasted originally, but now they’re off to the races.

Things We Conquered

The toughest part about this project was getting people to sign up again. I don’t know why Shopify requires you to have people except a new invitation in the way that they do. I think that I would almost recommend not importing anything and letting people just sign up and create a new account. They may lose their information from previous sales, but having to go through the process with every person of approving them, can lose your clients as well.

By adding on the correct apps, we were able to get the functionality that the client wanted in their new website without all of the extra fluff that’s required by add-on after add-on with Woo Commerce and Wordpress. Now they have a site that runs fast and isn’t bogged down. They also don’t have to spend $600 a month then Amazon AWS services.
